Lodge at the Ancient City is a luxury lodge built on a granite outcrop with views across a valley of Msasa trees towards the ancient ruined city of Great Zimbabwe. Massive boulders and trees form part of the structure and guests can enjoy views of the Great Enclosure.

Accommodation consists of 15 spacious lodges with twin double beds and four family lodges. All have en-suite facilities including shower and bath. The lodge has considerable character and a particular feature is the spectacular stone and thatch lounge and bar set high on a granite outcrop. The central areas also include an outside dining area and swimming pool.

Camp’s Quick Safari High-lights:

• Safari activities include a guided tour of the Great Zimbabwe ruins with an expert historical guide
• Sunset boat cruise on Lake Mutirikwi
• Scenic drives and walks around Lake Mutirikwi into an adjacent tribal area are also available
• The north-eastern shores of Lake Mutirikwi is a National Park and boating trips in search of white rhinoceros, hippo, crocodile and various antelope and bird species can be arranged and booked at the lodge.

Camp Accessibility:

Located within the Great Zimbabwe ruins, adjacent to Lake Mutirikwi national park, the lodge can be accessed by the direct road transfer or self drive between Bulawayo, Harare and if from South Africa self drive into the lodge is also recommended to reach the lodge.
