Jao Camp lies in the southern side of the plains, an area with beautiful islands fringed with riverine forests between the central region of the largest remote island of Jao concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve in the heartland of Okavango Delta with vast open floodplains which provide some of the most outstanding scenery of Okavango. Jao Camp enjoys its natural habitats ecosystem ranging from waterways, lagoons, dry Kalahari grasslands and open flood opens teaming with wildlife. The Camp is luxurious, absolutely tranquil and offers both safari experience on land and water activities depending on time of the year’s water flood levels.

The Camp’s bedrooms, bathrooms and Surrounding Areas:

Jao Camp offers nine luxurious spaced tents, each individually hand-crafted to give the guests an out of Africa experience feel. Each tent has twin-bedded canvas and thatched rooms located beneath shady tree canopies. Each tented room is decorated with en-suite facilities, private bathroom and outside showers to pamper the guests with an extra more adventurous gazing the evening African skies. The Camp is built on raised decks; each with a private sala for the afternoon siestas after the morning game drives and offers brilliant endless floodplains views and the surrounding sceneries. The Camp has a sitting lounge, dining area, two plunge pools and an African outside dining boma area for the evening surprise dinners under the African stars and private wine cellar. Jao offers the African bush salon and wide range of massage therapies for guest retreat and relaxation after morning game drives or walking safaris.

• Two platform hides in the concession to give guests close encounters on wildlife.
• During the high flood season, game viewing activities start of by a self propelled boating to nearby Hunda Island where game drives vehicles will be parked to begin for the drives.
• Big herds of elephant, buffalo, red lechwe, tsessebe, zebra and wildebeest, prides of lion leopard, crocodile and including hippos can be seen.
• Variety bird species resident in Jao concession such as Malachite Kingfisher, Hamerkop and Black Crake, Meyer's Parrot, African Harrier Hawk, Black egret and Coppery-tailed Coucal are most avian treasured for the keen bird watchers in the concession.
