Camp’s Quick Facts:

The Little Vumbura Camp is situated in a private 30 000 hectare concession, locally known as the Kwedi Game Reserve, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve in the northern territory reaches of the Okavango Delta. The camp provides splendid all-round game-viewing safari experience in the remote corner of the Delta. The beautifully built on six-roomed tented camp is shaded by the canopy of an ancient Okavango forest. The canvas tents with en-suite rooms offer large and comfortably appointed relaxation for the guests. Each tent has a bedroom veranda and the bathrooms offering the spectacular wild views of vumbura plains.

The Little Vumbura’s main area encompasses of a pub, dining room and lounge under canvas on saligna decking. A reading area overlooks the flood plains and a star deck leads off the dining area. A plunge pool is useful to cool off during the heat of the day after the morning game drives.

Surrounded by water-swamps and lying close to large rivers, water-based activities are:

• Mukoro ride (traditional dugout canoes) traversing the floodplains under the guidance of experienced poler Guides.

• Game drives in 4x4 open Land Rovers vehicles allow guests to get close to animals in the savannah areas.

• Little Vumbura has both the wetland and savannah species of wildlife species which consist of red lechwe, waterbuck, hippos, crocodiles, steenbok, reedbuck, sable, kudu, wildebeest and tsessebe who regularly roam the open plains.
• The Vumbura plains is one of the best areas to view the magnificent sable antelope. Herds of buffalo and elephant, along with the major predatory like – pride of lion, hyena, leopard, wild dog and cheetah.
• Guests who enjoy their birding will love the combination of all the Okavango water "specials" with acacia and dry woodland species.

Camp Accessibility:

Located in Okavango Delta swamps, the camp can only be accessed by a charter flight from Maun town, the tourism capital of Botswana, and then got transferred to the Camp by Mokoro ride/ a boat depending the high water-levels in winter months of June/July.
