Makalolo Plains: Hwange National Park Zimbabwe Safari

Camp’s Quick Facts:

Makalolo Plains one of the few camps built within the Park is located in an isolated remote area of the vast Hwange National Park, legendary for its wonderful array of wildlife and massive herds of elephant and buffalo - especially during the dryer winter months. The camp is set in a unique location, overlooking the Samavundhla Pan - which attracts game in good concentrations. The entire camp is raised on wooden boardwalks and platforms, giving guests excellent views over the waterhole and floodplain in front of the camp.

The Camp’s bedrooms, bathrooms and Surroundings

The Makalolo Plains accommodation consists of nine large spacious and comfortable tented rooms with en-suite shower, toilet and basin - all with hot and cold running water. There is also an outside shower in each tent for those who enjoy showering under the African evening stars. The lighting in the rooms is battery powered - ensuring peace and quiet in camp. Meals are enjoyed in the separate raised dining area and there is a lounge, bar and plunge pool. The camp has wildlife viewing hides overlooking the waterhole, which allow guests to enjoy close up game viewing.

• Safari activities include early morning and late afternoon game drives from open 4x4 vehicles.
• When game is most active, walking safari on foot are also offered accompanied by an armed professional guide

Camp Accessibility:

Located in the depth heart of vast Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe's premier wildlife destination, the Camp can be accessed by road with wilderness safari 4x4 authorised game-viewing vehicle from Main Camp or Hwange airport but recommend to charter flight from Victoria falls airport the tourism capital of Zimbabwe as an easy access to reach Makalolo Plains at travel convenient.
