Camp’s Quick Facts:

Situated on the western boundary of Mana Pools National Park, Ruckomechi Camp is a naturalist's paradise. The mystical Zambezi River forms the northern border of the area with a wide variety of habitats evident - open floodplains, mopane woodland and riverine forest with the mountains of the Rift Valley escarpment forming the backdrop in neighbouring Zambia.

The Camp’s bedrooms, bathrooms and Surroundings

The camp accommodates guests in five spacious en-suite units. A honeymoon suite overlooking the Zambezi River also has an outdoor 'bath-with-a-view'! The central dining, pub and lounge area is on the river's edge, facing the escarpment. The camp’s vegetation is dominated by broad canopied albida trees, much loved by elephants for their rich nutritious pods, and as a result they are often in camp!

Camp’s Quick Safari High-lights:

• Safari activities include wildlife viewing in open 4x4 vehicles or on motor- powered pontoon boats, on foot, in hides and in canoes.
• The area is renowned for large herds of elephant, buffalo, hippo and eland, especially in the winter months.
• Birdlife is superb, especially the local Collared Palm-Thrush, Racket-tailed Roller, Purple-banded Sunbird and Black-throated Wattle-Eyes found in both Mopane woodland and riverine species with numerous concentrate along the river.
• Predators such as pride of lion, leopard, African painted Wild dogs and cheetah are all found in the area.

Camp Accessibility:

Located on the western boundary of Mana Pools National Park - Zimbabwe's premier wildlife destination. Ruckomechi Camp can be accessed by road on 4x4 authorised game-viewing vehicle from Kariba town or charter flight into Mana.
