The luxurious, semi-permanent tented camps of Chobe/Savute Under Canvas move around the Park year round, bringing guests within reach of the Great splendor adventure of Chobe national park, Savute, Moremi and the world heritage of Okavango delta safari expedition as guests pass-by exploration the remote African villages, beautiful corners of national park, the game reserve pristine areas with excellent resident wildlife. Using only private tented camps, these Camps are entirely intimate and exclusive to guests on safari, featuring Botswana’s most spacious safari tents. Carefully planned according to the projected movements of the Great Botswana Under Canvas Safari, the Camps aim to bring guests within comfortable driving distance of the herds. However, the wildlife masses move with the rains, which occur at a time of the year in summer months of Nov/Dec/Jan. So it is not always possible to accurately predict where they will be. Our Safari expert guides will always try to place guests in the midst of the thronging wildlife adventure as they have the intimate knowledge of the ample resident wildlife, birding to ensure a rich game viewing experience is reached.

ACCESS TO CAMPS/LODGES:

The Chobe/Savute Under Canvas is embarked on either fly-in to the local Airport and then charter flight to airstrip nearest to the camp (Victoria falls, Kasane, Savute, Nxabega, and Xudum Airstrips) or road transfers from Victoria falls Airport. Guests will be collected and transferred to the camp.

GUESTS ACCOMMODATION ON SAFARI

Semi-permanent wilderness camps feature Bedouin style tents complete with ensuite facilities, separate W.C.’s and outdoor bucket showers except on mentioned Camps/lodges such as (Matetsi, Nxabega, Sandibe, Xudum and Xaranna. The spacious tent interiors boast elegant finishes of Persian rugs and chandeliers. The safari also includes, lake Matetsi lodge at Vic falls, Nxabega tented Camp, Sandibe, Xudum lodge and Xaranna camp Retreats.

The gracious sitting and dining tent features comfortable furniture and a choice of board games and books for whiling away the hours between safaris.

SAFARI ACTIVITIES AND OVERVIEW

Choice of early morning and afternoon game drives, walking safari, Canoe safari on mukoro dugout canoes, sunset cruiser on Okavango with full inclusive drinks, beer, bottle of wine, snacks on board. 4 to 6-seater semi-open 4x4 Toyota Land Cruiser safari vehicles with generous seating space and leg-room. SAFARI ITINERARY DETAILS:

Day 1: Johannesburg-Victoria falls (Matetsi Game lodge)
Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport you will be met and greeted by your safari Guide from Afrika Zambezi Safari to board on transfer with you to Victoria falls Airport where you will be transferred to your next road transfers to Matetsi Game lodge. Daily flights depart at 09:30 and 11:00. Meet and greet on arrival at Victoria falls airport by a representative from Matetsi game lodge for your 45minutes transfer to the lodge. Day 2: Victoria falls (Matetsi Game lodge)
Two splendid nights are spent at Matetsi game lodge giving the guest the best feel breathe of the might Zambezi river. The lodge is built on stone qaule nestled with African style Ndebele thatch over-looking the Zambezi river. The stay at Matetsi is on a full board basis including the safari activities such as full day guided tour of the Victoria falls visits, game drives, sunset cruise, canoeing safari and walking safari with an armed resident safari Guides at the lodge. Day 3: Victoria falls –Chobe/Savute Departures
After a morning game drives and break fast at Matetis game lodge, you are picked up from lodge on your scheduled road transfer to Kasane Airport Botswana for your Chobe/Savute Under Canvas safari. On arrival at Kasane Airport, you checked in for your scheduled charter flight to Savute Airstrip. The stay at Savute Under Canvas will be in a luxurious semi-permanent tents with a full on inclusive basis on safari activities such as half/full day game drives, sunset cruise on Chobe river, and walking safari with an armed resident safari Guides at the lodge. Day 4: Chobe/Savute National park
The two nights stay at Savute Under Canvas give the guests the feel of African bush by hearing the wild sounds of the bush while staying in a luxurious tranquility semi-permanent tents with a full on inclusive basis on safari activities such as half/full day game drives, sunset cruise on Chobe river, and walking safari with an armed resident safari Guide at the lodge. Day 5: Savute- Okavango Delta Departures (Nxabega Tented Camp)
Transfer by light aircraft to Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp. Spend two nights at Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp in a twin bedded East African style safari tent pitched on an elevated platform. Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled activities and park fees.

Day 6: Okavango Delta (Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp)
Spectacular two nights stay at Nxabega tented camp give guests a stunning game viewing in Okavango delta give you a great opportunity to explore the wilds of Okavango swamps with both morning and afternoon game drive adventures or simply take a Mukoro (dug-out canoe) ride on Okavango swamps. Over night at Nxabega tented Camp (LDBB)

Camps/Lodges Alternative of this Itinerary:
This itinerary can be altered and tailor-made for two nights stay at Sandibe Okavango Safari lodge or Xaranna Okavango Delta Camp subject to Nxabega Okavango tented Camp/Xudum Okavango Delta lodge being booked out. Accommodation is in a lavish tent at Nxabega camp and grandly furnished and while Xudum is luxurious thatched lodge with colonial added furnished styles interior of the rooms and bathrooms. Two nights stay at either of these Camps are on a full board basis including scheduled safari activities and park entry fees. Activities include game-drives, Dugout canoes/Mukoro, sunset cruise and walking safaris with an armed resident Guide.

Day 7: Okavango Delta Nxabega-Xudum Okavango Delta lodge Departures
Transfer by light aircraft from Nxabega to Xudum Delta lodge. Spend two nights at Xudum Okavango Delta Lodge in a twin bedded suite. Your stay is on a full board basis including scheduled safari activities and park entry fees.

Day 8: Okavango Delta ( Xudum Okavango Delta lodge)
Two nights stay give guests a spectrum of game viewing in Okavango delta give with a great opportunity to explore the wildlife of Okavango delta on both morning and afternoon game drives or simply take a Mukoro (dug-out canoe) or sunset ride on Okavango swamps. Activities include game-drives and walking safaris in Okavango private concessions. The afternoon game-drives extend after sunset with the aid of a spotlight, returning to the lodge after dark. Day 9: Okavango Delta Xudum Okavango Delta lodge – Maun Departures
 Our last early morning game drive and breakfast brings you to say goodbye to the lodge staff at Xudum lodge as you depart after breakfast on charter flight transfer to Maun Airport for your scheduled flight to Johannesburg International Airport. On arrival at 14h00 at Johannesburg Airport, your Afrika Zambezi Safaris Guide will assist you with a check in to your home onwards flight connection.
