Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp is situated on the 37 000ha in the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve just outside the Namib Naukluft Park and built close to the top of a mountain providing spectacular vistas of the desert valley floor and surrounding Naukluft Mountains. The camp is named after the nearby world-famous Sossusvlei, an enormous clay pan, flanked by the famous red sand dunes that stand out starkly against the blue sky. These dunes are the most well-known as the Big Daddy or Dune 45 –which has developed over millions of years by the wind which continuously remodelling the contours of this red sand sea. The 'vlei' itself only fills after rare heavy rainfall when, in a complete turn-around becomes spectacular turquoise lake.

Camp’s bedroom, bathroom and Surrounding:

The Sossuvlei wilderness Camp have nine superbly appointed units, each with a plunge pool on a raised wooden deck. The bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms all have panoramic views of the surrounding plains and dunes in the distance. The main area is under thatch with an outdoor deck where guests enjoy sundowners or dinner under the stars, while breakfasts are sometimes served under camel thorn trees amongst the dunes. The clear African night skies are viewed through a powerful telescope from the stargazing platform.

Located in the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve just outside the Namib Naukluft Park and in the famous Sossuvlei sand dunes, the Camp can be accessed by road from Windhoek but recommended to charter flight from Windhoek the capital City of Namibia as an easy access to the reach Sossovlei Wilderness Camp at travel convenient.
