Tena Tena Camp: South Luangwa National Park, Zambia Safari

Camp’s Quick Facts:

"Tena Tena Camp... is altogether it’s a total beyond superlatives, and must be one of the best safari camps in the whole of Africa", The Times, London. This remote and small camp lies at the south end of the Nsefu sector in the South Luangwa National Park and enjoys a stunning location on a sweeping bend of the Luangwa River. Nearby there is a spectacular lagoon, Buca Buca, where a whole morning can be spent quietly sitting while the game comes down to feed and drink.

The Camp’s Bedroom, Bathroom and Surroundings:

The large custom-made tents are positioned under the shades grove of mahogany trees accommodating just eight to ten guests. Each of the private and spacious tents has an en-suite bathroom with open-air shower. A dressing room made of woven bamboo separates the tent and the bathroom, and a veranda overlooks either a waterhole or the river. The camp has a thatched dining room and bar, from which guests can enjoy watching the herds of elephants sightings, hippo and antelope on the river banks, although nearly all the meals are eaten alfresco, under the shade of the central mahogany tree.
