The Hide Camp: Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe Safari

Camp’s Quick Facts:

The Hide Camp is a comfortable and relaxed tented safari camp located on a private concession within Hwange National Park. Superbly situated in one of Hwange’s most outstanding areas, bordering ancient elephant paths and a vast grassland corridor, the Hide camp has consistently been voted the best safari camp in Zimbabwe. It also features in Patricia Schultz’s book, “1,000 Places to See before You Die�. To say the least, the Camp has a relaxed atmosphere and friendly hospitable staff.

The Camp’s Bedroom, Bathroom and Surroundings:

The Hide Camp hosts ten luxury tents under thatch overlooking one of the busiest waterholes in Africa. Each tent has a private veranda, from which guests can enjoy outstanding game viewing. En-suite bathrooms have showers and flush toilets. For the more adventurous and romantic, the Dove’s Nest offers a complete exclusivity for a night alone in the wild. The Hide Camp prides itself on its fine cuisine and meals which are enjoyed either alfresco beneath a canopy of camel-thorn acacia trees overlooking the waterhole or around the grand 22-seater teak dining table.

Camp’s Quick Safari High-lights:

• The most privacy off the beaten track attraction of Hide Camp is the two concealed “hidesâ€� located on either side of the Hide’s waterhole.
• The two concealed hides offer a total secure haven for remarkable close encounters with wildlife game-viewing such as herds of elephant, buffalo and an array of other general plains game.
• The spectacle of the great predators and rhino making a sudden appearance is not uncommon.
• The hides also offer incredible photographic opportunities.
• Other Safari activities include walking safari on foot with experienced armed Guides.
• Day and evening game drives excursions including night drives with some of Africa’s best safari guides.

Camp Accessibility:

Located in the private concession within Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe’s prime safari destination, the Camp can be accessed by road on 4x4 authorised vehicle from Hide Camp from Main Camp but recommend to charter flight from Victoria Falls as an easy access to reach Hide Camp.
