Camp’s Quick Facts:

Vumbura Plains is a luxury camp located in a private concession locally known as Kwedi Reserve in the extreme north of the Okavango Delta. The concession is proudly leased from the neighbouring community which includes wide variety of habitats, wildlife diversity and enormous traversing area of 60 000 hectares (130 000 acres). What makes the Vumbura concession unique is its location on the extreme north of the Okavango that encompasses wide variety of habitats and wildlife species that represents just about every animal that occurs in the Okavango Biomes. The camp consist of two separate seven roomed satellite camps, each with its own raised dining, lounge and bar area tucked beneath a canopy of cool, shady, indigenous trees and with a magnificent vista across the floodplains. A star-gazing deck with comfortable cushions protrudes into the floodplain; a place to gaze upwards, or a convivial camp fire setting.

Camp’s Bedrooms, bathrooms and Surrounding:

The luxurious large rooms are raised off the ground on wooden decks, each consisting of a bedroom, lounge, and shower bathrooms with inside and outside showers. The open rooms have three sides and the billowing curtains between the various areas creating the sense of a yacht floating through the floodplains. Each room also has a private plunge pool and “Sala�, a comfortable area to lie and relax the minds while watching the weaving grassland of the floodplains to meditate the human soul.

• Vumbura Plains offers both land and water activities to game-viewing nature in their variety habitats in open 4x4 vehicles, safari guided walks, self-propelled boat for sunset excursions or in mokoro trips.
• Whilst exploring to discover spectacular Okavango ecology, guests can enjoy close-up wildlife encounters viewing pride of lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant and buffalo along with general game.
• Birdlife species at Vumbura are just fabulous with an immense diversity in numbers for the keen birders.
• The Vumbura area is the only area in Okavango Delta guaranteed to see red lechwe antelope, an animal that inhabits the fringes of the waterways and so as the sable and Roan antelope, an animal that prefers the dry countryside and can be seen on most every game drives, either in the morning or in the evening game drive.

Camp Accessibility:

Located in Okavango Delta Botswana, Vumbura plains has its own airstrip and can be accessed by a charter flight from Kasane/Maun town, the tourism capitals of Botswana, and then gets transferred to the Camp by game-drive vehicle.
